Cardmaking

Five Cards Featuring Alcohol Ink

Justine Hovey has five cards featuring alcohol inks and fun techniques like foil & embossing!

It’s Justine here with another video tutorial and today I am working with alcohol inks, foils, and embossing powders for some fun techniques to create FIVE different cards! I personally love stamping and die cutting images and arranging them into fun collages to create multiple cards.

To start, I began creating some alcohol ink panels. I used Yupo paper and cut it in half to make smaller panels. You can create full panels too if you would like to use the leftovers to create additional cards later. I added various colours of alcohol inks:

Green: Citrus, Limeade, Pistachio, Clover
Pink: Pink Sherbet, Watermelon Raspberry, Purple Twilight
Yellow: Dandelion, Sunshine Yellow, Valencia, Coral
Purple. Indigo, Sailboat Blue, Pool
Red. Sunset Orange, Valencia, Crimson, Dandelion
Teal. Stream, Turquoise, Pistachio

Then I stamped over top of the backgrounds using various flowers and leaves from the Bohemian Flowers set. I added Alabastar embossing powder over top and melted the powder with a heat tool. Be sure to watch the video as I describe the best way to heat up Yupo paper with the least amount of warping.

Lastly, I added the flowers and leaves in various collages onto card bases and added various sentiments using the Block Words dies, Totally Random Sayings Stamp and the Up the Happy Stamp.
