I am stationed in Korea and needed a hobby to pass the time. Papercrafting looked so fun. Getting supplies proved challenging, but I am now loving my new hobby.

Hafa Adai! I’m originally from Guam and now live in California. My husband and I have 3 children and 4 grandkids (the 5th due mid August). I enjoy crafting and have for many years (I craft for fun and relaxation). And yes, I remember Carol Duvall…always enjoyed her shows.

Something many don’t know is that, to support my crafty habit, I do contract work and work with groups for team building on ropes courses i.e. zip lines, high ropes, games on the ground all to help them achieve whatever stated goal they have. It’s amazing to see groups work through struggles and have that revelation of how they need to adapt to each other to make it work!! I love card making! 🙂

Hi Ellen Hutson! I love life and I’m so excited that I will be retiring as a librarian this October! I’m also a ghost hunter with South Jersey Ghost Research. Woot!! I can’t wait to take my sabbatical and reinvent myself in 2020.

I started scrapbooking when my kids were very small, about 23 years ago. Since I had the supplies, I started using them to make cards and invitations. Then eventually I gave up scrapbooking and just kept making cards. I love it so much and now that my kids are grown and gone I have a crafting room of my own which Is awesome. It’s filled with goodies. One of my daughters now makes cards herself and I cherish her creations.

I live in NC. A few years back, I lost my 3 year old niece to cancer. Someone sent me a sympathy card, and I realized the value of a handmade card. My niece Sterling is the reason I’m a card maker.

I’m a rubber stamper, handbell ringer, and lately crocheting again. I’m learning to use my Silhouette Cameo and Cricut Heat Press to make baby items. We have two daughters, one is pregnant and one is trying to become pregnant. We can’t wait to be grandparents! I would like to try screen printing sometime soon. Oh, and letterpress … and bookbinding …

Retired p/t school librarian, organist and mom of two adult men and Grammy to 3 grandsons, all of us in Oregon. I card craft sporadically and could easily run a store from my stash. I spend summers tending my roses and yard and winters watching PBS and creating cards.

I’m fortunate to have family in Oregon and Florida as well as chosen family all over. I have a terrible affliction of buying card making supplies and using a small percentage of them. But that doesn’t slow me down much. Have gotten to know some creative carders on blogs that are now family. Thank you to all in this hobby.

I am a 45 year old mother of 4. I have forced all of my kids to make cards for every relative’s birthday for years. A couple of them have grown to like it. I was introduced to stamping and card making by a friend in university although now I’m into it big time and she’s given it up. I’ve always been into arts and crafts, and my dad and brother are quite artistic also. My husband things I’m a bit nuts, but he is super supportive of my habit and encourages me a ton.

Yippe Skippee how fun! I am a little sister and have just one older brother and we grew up in the military! I’ve been to 6 of the 7 continents and speak 3 languages fluently 🙂 I’m a mom to 4 of my own – one who is a card maker like her mama and actually won a school award for one of hers! I’m hopeful one day I’ll be that famous l, too 😘. Thanks for the chance!

Being from Wisconsin, I love cheese and butter on everything!! I have been crafting since the early 70’s and began making my own cards then also. It is so great to have all of the new techniques and embellishments available. I have always been obsessed with miniatures (doll accessories, etc.)– so try to incorporate them in my cards. Getting in to different types of paper crafting and crafting in general has been inspirational. My husband of 47 years doesn’t understand the “amount” of supplies I have. I can relate to the person that said she could open a craft store. I tell him that I have an “artistic mind” and whenever I see a product, I envision what I can make with it. The problem is making it– never seem to get to it. I really like the idea of making a card a day and hope to make that a goal. Thank you to Audrey for the inspiration.
Over the years, I have taken many classes—- calligraphy, watercolor, basketmaking, printmaking (my own Christmas cards from a drawing of my house I did in 1990) , pen and ink, and so on.
When we travel, I love architecture and history and taking in our natural world. I am not a social media person or “connected” in a lot of ways. When we went to the Grand Canyon and had forgotten our camera–debated on buying one– we opted to just take it all in, visually and mentally, and it was memorable. A couple from France offered– and took our picture and e-mailed it to us. Yes, e-mail is great. Especially for our two daughters and son-in-law who live in Wyoming
Thank you for supporting all of the artistic people in our lives. We love it.

I am part of an artist co-op, that my husband and I started from a post on a local Facebook page in April! We have 11 artists sharing a gallery and it is going very well! I sell my cards at this co-op. I have been making cards for approximately 15 years and love it! I also teach card-making! This gallery has been a dream come true! Go for your dream!

My husband and I are both very social so that keeps us busy…but away from my stamping room. We enjoyed helping people! Also very grateful to live at the lake and cruise on our pontoon when the weather cooperates.

I am 75 years old and have been scrapbooking since the 90″s. I added card making not long after that. I’m the oldest of 9 children, mother of 4, grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 5. I make cards for all of them along with various charitable organizations. I also teach a card class every week here in our over 55 RV park. We love dancing, golfing, and hanging out. We celebrated 57 years of marriage in June. I think my style is sweet rather than salty. I love all EH products, especially the storage pockets.

Bless my mom, she attempted to teach me all of the crafting that she loved. Knitting, crocheting, quilting, plastic canvas, and the craft kits she ordered through the mail, but everything made me a nervous wreck. That is, until I discovered scrapbooking in the early 90s! THAT is where I found my niche! Paper not only calms me, but it gives me a voice when words escape. So, my youngest sister and I did ONLY that until a friend introduced me to card making about 7 years ago, during Sandy Allnock’s Operation Write Home ministry. Of course, I dragged my sister along on this journey, and to this date, we have so many papercrafting tools and supplies, we could start our own store. One thing we could not do without, is Ellen’s line of storage envelopes and magnet sheets in combination with the inter design containers to organize and contain the hundreds of stamps and dies collected over the years. Thanks for introducing us to those Jennifer McGuire! And of course, I am the proud owner of all of Brandi Kinkaid’s Leading Ladies, Gents, Little Ladies stamps/dies collection! My sister and I both belong to a papercrafting girlfriend group in Waterloo. IL, making cards for various organizations, like veterans, nursing homes, children’s backpacks, to name a few. I’m married with 2 grown children and 1 granddaughter. I am also a retired map maker, for 3 years now, and care for our aging mother and aunt. I love my Church home, First Baptist Church Herculaneum/Pevely, and have currently joined in the campaign Saturate USA, delivering packets throughout subdivisions and trailer parks, to spread the Good News about salvation through Jesus. I give all glory to God for the creative gifts He has blessed me with! I tend to be a salty snacker, and popcorn is my fave!!! Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little bit about your customers Ellen! Have a fantastic weekend!!!

I’ve crafted for years into the wee hours of the night after work – now my son is grown and married and I’m two years into retirement – and loving every minute as I can craft whenever I want to – have time to get projects completed ahead of time and time to try out all the supplies I’ve been buying and not having time to use until now! I live in MA – born and raised. I love the 4 seasons we have in New England and don’t think I’ll ever move away – but I appreciate ALL the beauty of our diverse USA!

I am a retired sign language interpreter for deaf in a public school in southeast Texas. Now I have begun a new hobby of making cards for my loved ones. I have 3 children and 7 grandchildren, & 4 siblings still living. My Mom was one of 16 siblings and I was no.5 of the 64 cousins that resulted from those Aunts and Uncles. So I have a lot of loved ones to make and send cards to. I love being retired. Tho I loved working with deaf children, as well.

I live in San Antonio, Texas. Only child. My mom is from Mexico and I spoke Spanish before I spoke English.I actually learned English from Mister Rogers, Sesame Street, and the Electric Company. I am still fluent in Spanish. With a name like Marisela, you have to be. ha-ha My dad’s family also originated from Mexico, but our lineage goes back to Spain specifically the Spanish Canary Islands. The people there are for real SERIOUS about their dogs. When I found out, I knew we were from there because my dad and grandfather were coo-coo for their dogs. =) I started stamping about 25 years ago. My life has been in complete disarray (putting it mildly) for the past 6 years. I cut my leg while shaving. It not only turned life-threatening, but turned my entire life into chaos. Painful chaos. I have been in BRUTAL pain for the entire 6 years, but GOD. I have my Lord Jesus and He is faithful.

I’m born and raised in PA. My husband and I have raised our family of 2 children and 2 dogs here as well. I’ve always been crafting and when my husband and I got together, we would make our gifts each Christmas for his somewhat large family and my family. I received a handmade card several years ago and that started my interest in card making. I, too, could be a small store with all my supplies. Now if only I could stop buying and start using all my supplies, I think my hubby would be much happier about my obsession. I homeschooled my two children and as soon as they graduated, I cleared the room out and made it my crafting room. In two short years, it has become filled with crafting supplies.

Art and creating just feeds my soul. Coloring with Crayola crayons was one of my favorite things to do as a kid (and I still enjoy it)… so I could spend hours coloring stamped images with my Copics. I also love experimenting with new techniques and products. I live in the beautiful Pacific NW so when I’m not creating, I love enjoying the outdoors… bicycling, trail running, paddle boarding…

  • Reply Daylene Strickland July 19, 2019 at 9:09 pm

I have always been “crafty” and loved to color. I can’t draw, so stamped images are awesome! I started stamping a little over 20 years ago. A friend from church invited me to a stamp party. I couldn’t fathom why anyone would want to go to a stamp party and that such a home party existed.. seemed ridiculous to me. Went to party and watched all these friends swooning over catalogs and samples. I flipped through the catalog as others were comparing the things they already had. Then a magical moment… the demonstrator showed us how to emboss. Wow! I was mesmerized! That night I took the catalog home and made my wish list. Ha! It was almost everything in the catalog! 😂. Since then I’ve collected many stamps, but never stopped buying, learned lots of techniques, moderated a stamp discussion forum for 5 years, been on 1 design team before blogs and YouTube, and had 10+ cards/projects published in stamping or crafting magazines. My best memory is the day someone from The Rubber Stamper Magazine called me to tell me one of my cards would be featured the cover of the next issue. I was over the moon!

I’m old school… don’t have a blog or do videos. I love to make cards because each on is a tiny canvas. I don’t really do many CAS cards, because the fun is in the backgrounds and design. I really enjoy watching YouTube videos by the very talented artists today. I still l learn new things and am inspired by these artists and the many other stampers in various Facebook groups.

I can’t believe I missed out on so much with crafting. After my knee injury, I started to get into crafting. I am still learning but it’s so much fun! I also love camping, going to the movies, dancing, sing karaoke and always make time for date night! Thank you and keep up the great work!
