And we are thrilled to have a super cute and caffeinated cardmaking video from Julie Ebersole…

Julie’s making a sophisticated black and white coffee themed card today and sharing one of her favorite ways to give her stamped images a dimensional look without bulking up on layers.  After shading, she adds a thick layer of Glossy Accents to the coffee cup which further enhances the dimension and resembles a porcelain finish.

TIPS:

  • If you have trouble with static cling, be sure to prep your paper surface with anti-static powder; pounce the surface generously, then blow off or use a soft brush to remove excess.
  • Dark hues of Zig Clean Color Brushes are fairly intense; it only takes a few strokes of color in a smallish area to blend out with a waterbrush.
  • Avoid coloring an image completely; lay down strokes of color along the embossing lines, then pull/blend the color out for great results.
  • Pale hues of Zig Clean Color Brushes often do not need to be blended out with a waterbrush.
  • Glossy Accents can “dilute” water-based coloring mediums; try using richer/slightly deeper hues to minimize this.
  • Keep your project flat while Glossy Accents dries to avoid pooling into odd shapes; thick applications can take several hours or longer to dry.
