3 Cards with Heart!

Hearts: they’re not just for Valentine’s Day! Join Lisa Spangler as she shares three ideas for using hearts all year long.

Hello, hello! It’s Lisa here and we’re coming up on one of my favorite cardmaking holidays — Valentine’s Day! Gimme alllll the chocolate lol! Today I’m sharing three ideas for using those Valentine heart stamps all year long. Let’s get started!

I’ll be using the heart from the Essentials by Ellen High Five set — this is such a great set to have in your crafty toolbox. I’ll also be using newly released inks from the Catherine Pooler party collection — there’s something about new inks that always sparks me! (And that drive-in ink! ooooh!)

A Rainbow of Hearts

My first tip for using hearts all year long: stamp them in a rainbow of colors!

I absolutely love the look this gives! You could easily turn this into a birthday card or get well soon card just by switching up the sentiment.

Pro tip: when stamping overlapping images, keep color theory in mind. Be sure to stamp colors that play well next to each other. For example, if you stamped catching rays next to serenade you’d get a gray tone.

Confetti Hearts

Another idea for using hearts all year long is to turn them into confetti.

Speaking of confetti, I added some iced confetti sequins to the front of the card, but it would also be fun to sprinkle some inside to fall out upon opening…unless your friends and family are all on to your confetti ways and they open your cards over the trash can, ha!

Another idea would be to use the coordinating High Five dies to cut some heart confetti! Oh YES!

Graphic Hearts

Hearts make a graphic statement no matter what color you stamp ’em in! Here I made a card for my husband — I feel that the hearts soften the sentiment 🙂

Here I stamped a row of hearts and then cut the panel apart to add interest to the card.

He laughed when he saw it! 🙂

Thanks so much for joining me, and I hope I’ve inspired you to use your heart stamps all year long! — Lisa
