Essentials by Ellen Reveal Week – Day Three

Welcome to Day Three of the Essentials by Ellen Reveal Week! We’re excited to continue sharing our beautiful new June Release, leading up to our launch on Friday, June 10th at 9:00 AM PST. Everyday will be packed with inspiration and previews of our new release from our fabulous Design Team, and we’re closing out the week with a celebratory Instagram Hop. If you missed yesterday, check out Day Two HERE!

Today, we are featuring:

  • Positive Vibes Stamp Set
  • Press Plate Hot Foil Stamp
  • Sentiments Strips Die Set
  • Way with Words Hot Foil Plate

From Tiffany Pryce Russom:

“Cut the Sentiment Strips die from multiple colors of cardstock and create a fun striped background. It’s a way to get more from this die.”

From Emily Leiphart:

“Adding a single black and white image embellished with enamel dots to coordinate with the sentiment strips creates movement.”

From Carly Tee Minner:

“When you’ve got the Sentiment Strips die on your craft table, try using the actual die like a stencil and ink blending through it. Talk about stretching your supplies!”

From Daniel West:

“Use your die cutting machine’s dry embossing mat with a foiling stamp to create a nice textured background for a sentiment.”

From Therese Calvird:

“Make multiple ‘ready to go’ sentiments to have on hand for a quick card. Use both the positive and negative pieces of Hot Foil (using the Press Plate) to keep waste to a minimum.”

From Emily Mydlowski:

“Hot foil stamped sentiments and images are such a pretty addition to any card design. My tip for perfect impressions (both positive & negative foiling with your leftover foil)…Yupo Paper! Its slick surface is not only perfect for alcohol inks but makes for the perfect hot stamp foiling surface.”

From Angela Simpson:

“No gold cardstock? No problem! Make your own DIY gold cardstock by using a sheet of gold foil and the EBE Press Plate. Let it heat up for longer than your other hot foil stamps, then continue with the hot foiling process as normal. Try it with as many hot foil colors as you like – your future self will be grateful to have plenty of metallic cardstock on hand!”

From Carissa Wiley:

“Use your favorite ink pads to create a watercolor background, then die cut shapes for a beautiful die cut accent for your card.  Catherine Pooler inks are water reactive and work great for this technique.

Aren’t these projects positively perfect?
