Ghosts are a must-have for Halloween, but how can we add them to our card projects in creative ways? Angela’s got 3 ideas for you in today’s video tutorial.
Hi friends! It’s Angela here, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve been having SO much fun playing with the new Halloween-themed goodies in the latest Essentials by Ellen release. Ghosts can be found all throughout, and in the 3 projects I’m about to share, we’ll talk about 3 different ways to incorporate them in your card designs.
Tips:
- The Push Me Pull You die set is a simple, clever and fun way to make a ghost move. If you haven’t worked with it before, be sure to check out Julie’s fantastic video here that walks through all the details.
- If you don’t have the Push Me Pull You die but still want to add movement, try securing the ghost to an action wobbler or small spring.
- To incorporate ghosts into a background, try making your own stencil with dies and a sheet of acetate, pouncing white pigment ink on top with a blending tool. The Pumpkin Mug die set includes 3 ghosts that you can repeatedly die cut, and if your machine doesn’t produce clean cuts with acetate, a metal shim should be all you need to fix that!
- Memento Tuxedo ink can be used to stamp ghost outlines on vellum. Just be sure to let it dry completely before die cutting to prevent any smudges.
- Not sure how to stick a vellum ghost on your card without the adhesive showing? Dress it up in a few of the pieces from the Ghost Costumes stamp and die set. Not only does it make the ghost 100x more adorable, but you can easily hide double-sided tape behind.
