Create a Garden Scene with Guest Designer Kelly Taylor!

We are thrilled to welcome the fabulously talented Kelly Taylor to the blog! Kelly’s here today to show us how she was inspired by our latest Essentials by Ellen release to create this gorgeous garden trellis using our new Lattice Background Die, perfect for sharing a little springtime cheer with your loved ones!

Hello Crafters!

I’m Kelly Taylor and I’m so excited to meet you. Huge thanks to Ellen and her team for inviting me to play along with the adorable new release. I have a few tips and tricks along the way too. Let’s get to the card shall we?

I stamped several of the images from the Sweet Spring stamp set before I really knew where my card was going to go. Sometimes just stamping them all out and then coloring them can give me guidance on how I want to put my card together. I used Sketchmarkers to color in all my images before die cutting them out.

I fell head over heals for the Lattice Background Die and knew I wanted it to be a prominent element in my design. I paired it with the Essential Arches to create a garden trellis look. In order to bring the lattice to life, I added a little shading with a marker. Don’t be afraid to color your die cuts to give them a bit of life or a different look.

What’s a garden trellis without flowers right? I stamped multiples of all the flowers in the set, colored them up and die cut them out. For the sentiment I created a cute spring sign to hang on the trellis finished off with a bow.
