Like a winter shimmer! DANIEL SMITH’s luminescent watercolors are unlike anything ever seen in watercolor, simulate the glitter of a watery surface or the luster of mother-of-pearl. They’re made from mica pigment, thin transparent particles coated with highly reflective metal oxides. Interference pigments display a subtle sheen when used on white paper. Used on black paper, or as a glaze over dark colors. Pearlescent colors give white paper a pearl-like luster. Use Pearlescent Shimmer as a glaze for a snow-like glimmer or mix with other colors to add sparkle and shine.

I don’t usually spend this much for water colors, but it was praised by a known artist. Not only is it pricey for a very small tube, but when I opened it, it spit out a large blob onto some cards I was working on. After cleaning it up, I tried it out, I will never buy it again. I will stick to Wink of Stella.
