There are so many different ways for card makers to watercolor—today I happen to be using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers with Brandi’s Bookworm Lady!
TIPS:
- Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers feature real brush bristles, as opposed to nylon or felt nibs. Use a paint stroking type motion, as opposed to pressing the nibs hard against paper surfaces to maintain the tips in good working condition.
- Medium to darker colors are very concentrated; use a light hand. You can always add more color later.
- Julie likes to heat emboss her images when watercoloring with these markers; apply color along the inside edge of the embossed images, but avoid filing images in entirely.
- “Pull” the color away from the embossed lines using a waterbrush (or a regular paintbrush + water) to achieve a lovely painted/watercolor look!
- If you need to add more color to an image, allow the paint to dry thoroughly and then reapply color; applying Clean Color Brush Markers to a wet surface causes the nib to wick water up inside the barrel, diluting the marker’s true color.
