Winter Wonderland stamps & dies…

Happy Satur-YAY! I’m celebrating the weekend by getting my craft on and I hope you can join me in the fun. Today I’m sharing a couple of cards with a framed Winter Wonderland theme. I’ll be using stamps from the Essentials By Ellen Line, Darcie’s Heart & Home and dies from Lawn Fawn to create this fun winter scene.

A lot of times, when we think of building a scene on a card, we think it has to cover the entire area of the card. Framing the scene is a great way to contain the scene to a smaller area and leaves you with a card that is more clean and simple.

On these cards, I’ve used the frame to contain the scenery and layered the focal image on the top of the scene. My cute little critters take center stage.

I’ve been a huge fan of Liquid Appliqué lately. It’s perfect for snowy effects or faux fur accents on Santa hats or coats. I used the Liquid Appliqué for a finishing touch on both of my cards today. It’s so much fun to watch it puff up once you heat set it.

I’ll show you in today’s video tutorial how these projects came together, and give you some tips and tricks along the way too. Be sure to check that out.

I hope you enjoyed these projects and I hope it inspires you to get creative on this fabulous Satur-YAY! I’d love to see the winter wonderland themed cards you’re creating. If you’re creating today, be sure to share your projects using #EllenHutsonSaturYAY so I can check them out!

Thanks for stopping by today and spending time with me. Until next time, Happy Satur-YAY and I hope you have a fabulous day!
XOXO! Carissa
