Ever wish you had a stamp that faced the opposite direction? Julie is sharing an oldie-but-goodie technique for doing exactly that! There are various ways of accomplishing mirror image stamping but today’s features the MISTI, a background stamp used as a reverse image block and some clear plastic/acetate.
TIPS:
- Use a pigment ink; it stays wet longer and yields a much crisper/complete image than other inks. If you happen to have any missed spots, you can often just use a fine tip marker to fill them in.
- The back of a larger “solid” stamp works best as reverse image block; outline stamps will often not provide enough support.
- If you want to die cut your reverse image, a flashlight (or other strong source of light) and a diecut jig/mask will help with positioning the die properly. Watch the video; this is easier seen than explained.
