I am a middle sister among four children; I have 2 boys and 2 girls, all grown and so derful, and 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters! I make them all customized cards. I have loved mail since I was a little girl and wrote a letter to myself and mailed it, so that I would receive mail!

I’ve been a cardmaker off and on for a really long time. I was even a Stampin Up demonstrator for awhile. Work and life got in the way, and I quit for awhile. Strangely enough, the death of Michael Jackson awakened something in me, and meeting new friends in Michael triggered my love of cardmaking again. I retired from my job in 2014, and I had planned to get back into my cardmaking full time. But, health issues with my Dad required my time and attention. He died in April, quite suddenly, and I’ve been reeling from that. But, as I’ve been in recovery mode, I’ve found crafting videos on YouTube and Facebook, and my creative juices have been sparked!! I can’t wait to get back into it!! I’m from a small family with 2 sisters and a brother. I’m divorced with no children, own a home, and live near Washington, DC. I love rooting for the Maryland Terrapins men’s basketball team and the Washington Redskins football team.

I love making cards…especially now that I am retired from elementary school teaching. I play violin and used to be a member of the Piedmont Symphony in Hickory, NC. We live on a beautiful lake…whose sunny summer colors are an inspiration to make happy summer cards.

I live in Georgia, northwest of Atlanta and am always on the lookout for crafty friends in the area. I’ve been stamping and cardmaking for 10 years, but started papercrafting when my son was born and I wanted to scrapbook. Lately its been a challenge to craft as we have a new puppy in the house! She chewed up one of my fav shoes, but so far has not touched my crafty stuff which tends to be *everywhere*. I have a craft room but take things down to the living room in a tote to work on while spending time with my family. I have an 18 year old son who is my life, and we are very close. He opted to attend the local community college in the fall and stay home another year, and I couldn’t be happier. He’s my one and only, and even a new puppy wouldn’t have filled the hole in my heart if he lived on campus somewhere. I come from a dysfunctional family, so it was important to me to have a close bond with my one and only offspring. He and my hubby of 25 years keep me sane. One other note, I’m having withdrawals from being a high school marching band mom for 4 years. Band camp just started and I feel lost not being involved this year. Thankfully puppy Willow and our older labrador Wally are keeping me somewhat distracted. That said, I may go visit my “other kids”… the 250 I adopted through marching band. Once a band mom, always a band mom!!!

Hi Northwest Atlanta Karen! I am Karen originally from Rome, Ga. I’ve been scrapbooking for 20 years and cardmaking for the last 10. I have an only son with whom I weathered drugs and alcohol and he is an addiction counselor now! I have my beloved son back in my life with our closer-than-ever relationship. I also come from a dysfunctional family (didn’t we all?). Scrapbooking and card making keep me sane in my retirement living outside of Athens (almost at the S.C. border). I have 3 crafty friends with whom I scrapbook or make cards 2 days a month and we have game day once a month (we figured out that we all liked games too). Life is good and it surely sounds like your life is good too. Glad to see your post!

I’ve been card-making in some shape or form since I was little. I used to love letter writing and using calligraphy, stickers and rubber stamps to make my letters pop! I love watching scary movies, so making Halloween cards is my absolute favorite. I work in an advertising agency, and paper crafting is definitely my stress reliever after a long day. 😊

I am a Military brat that grew up around the world. But now I am a homebody. I retired from teaching 2 years ago and have rekindled my crafty side now that I have the time. My sister still teaches and I volunteer in her elementary classroom– quite a change from HS math. Or I am quilting with my Mom. Or helping with various church activities. When I am home, my border collie “helps” me with my card making projects.

I have always loved crafting, got the creative gene from my late mother. Over 20 years ago I got into scrapbooking because after both my parents passed I had boxes of photos. I ended up throwing away photos because I had no idea who the people in the photos were. I wanted my kids and grandkids to have documentation of everyone in our lives and all the fun things and just normal day to day stuff we did. Making scrapbooks for 2 of my grandchildren (who are 13 & 9) of them and their mom (my daughter) who passed away a year and a half ago. I started from the baby showers, their birth and going through all the years, the daily things and fun things they did with their mom. Many years ago I also got into card making. Love making handmade cards for family members & co-workers birthdays.

Im a retired RN making cards for our elders in care facilities and I love my furry kids who also keep me happy and sane, far more trustworthy than people. I mostly use stamps and dies however dies have become far too expensive for what they are. Sorry, old folks get to speak out lol

I love art, crafting, and quilting – basically everything creative. I used to paint in oils, but have switched to watercolors. I like CAS cards, with my own coloring (watercolors or copics). But, stamps make a good jumping off point for my cards! Before I retired I was a Technical Illustrator for a large aerospace company. After retirement, I homeschooled my granddaughter. We had fun with school, taking photography field trips, camping, learning to paint, crafting, sewing/quilting, along with the traditional school subjects. She just finished her Freshman year at public HS, and got straight As, so I managed to teach what was required along with all the fun we had! She shares my studio space with me, and we often make cards together. I am truly blessed!

This is fun! Let’s see–I’m the oldest of three kids. I live in Southeast Kansas. I have two grown kids and four grandsons ranging in age from 16 to 5 months! My sweetie also has four grandkids who consider me to be Nana too. I retired from being a special education teacher (after 27 years!) in May and am very curious as to what is next. I started scrapbooking in 1999 and card making probably ten years later. Fun fact: I entered two minialbums and a pile of cards (entered as one entry) in our county fair and won three blue ribbons and the Grand Champion. The judge gave both minialbums blue ribbons even though they were competing between themselves. She told the lady from our county that she wanted to have coffee with me :o) Lately, I’ve been inventorying my stamp collection in Evernote and have made over 200 entries. I might have a problem…

I started making cards for family and friends about 10 years ago with my Cricut. Lots of changes since then… I come from a family of 9 kids. 6 girls and 3 boys. I am third from the bottom. Unfortunately 2 brothers and 1 sister have passed as well as my parents. I have been married for 33 years and we enjoy traveling and have a small home in the country. I did some crafting at my local hardware for many years. Bob and Diane are such wonderful people and have recently retired and closed the hardware. I miss getting my card supplies locally. But, there are so many great companies (Ellen H.) included out there. I love spreading my hard earned retirement monies around. Thanks for this generous prize….

Almost all my supplies are now bought online so I cherish and rely on sites such as yours. Thank you!

I was introduced to rubber stamping & card crafting more than 30 years ago when the mother of one of my 4 year old son’s preschool friends told me about a new rubber stamp store she was opening. I’ve been hooked ever since.
I begin most every single day watching YouTube videos of various talented crafters showing me some new card making technique. I have to be careful to not let too much time get away from me as I could watch for hours & hours. I love learning new card making techniques & sharing them with my friends.

    I LIVE TO CREATE!
I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters and my Dad worked on the oil rigs overseas so we lived in England and
Norway. I was born in Alberta BC and we moved back to Canada when I was 14.
I have always been crafty and sold my first crafts when I lived in Norway at the age of 11! When I was 8 I won 1st prize at a fair in England for a doll dress I hand sewed. I still have that dress.
My Mom was crafty and sewed all our clothes ( with 7 kids she had to!). I say that she passed on the ” CRAFTING BUG” and the “CREATIVE CURSE” to me, as I have several rooms filled with fabrics, scrapbooking and card making supplies and lots of other “stuff” I have a huge craft room my husband built for me and I teach seniors and kids crafts. I always have projects on the go in several rooms so my house is clean but messy, thus the CURSE!
I have always been drawn to colors, textures, patterns and I have this urge to CREATE! I am always taking pictures of peoples clothing and anything that I can recreate the colors and patterns.

Hay Kari, I remember Carol! I’m in my 89th year and loving every minute.I have a daughter, son-in-law and grandson who live upstairs of me so I have someone in-and-out of my apartment at all hours. (Trying to find out what I’m working on now.LOL) I supply birthday cards for the ladies in my church circle. (they keep me excited to attempt new things) I have stamps on wood and some of the very first clear, acrylic stamps — but it has never ended. I’ve been stamping since 1993. My husband died in 2000 so I turned an extra bedroom into “MY” craft room.Anyone that wants to come craft with me is welcome and for a while I had two gals from church that met each month to make cards for our shut-ins.
This is a wonderful hobby and the gals, who make the videos encouraging us amateurs to learn, are so talented I’m going to “play” as long as I can. Now, I have to go finish some cards!

Let’s see…How do I narrow down my “special skills”? For the past three years, I have kept a promise to myself to make a card a day. Yep, I’ve made at least 1,095 cards since 2016. This means, my friends receive a box of assorted cards for a Christmas gift. Did I mention my “friend” list grows every year? I tend to create CAS cards, but every now and again, I’ll break out the water colors and release my inner three year old. As for my favorite took, I’m going to have to say die cuts. 😉

I’ve been crafting on and off for many years. My style is all over the grid–I like many genres. I started with scrapbooking and eventually found that I love making note and greeting cards. I dabble in art journaling, too. I don’t consider myself creative on my own merit, so my inspiration and ideas get charged when I see works from other artists and designers. I make sets of cards to give as gifts to friends, family, and colleagues. My vice is acquiring the latest craft gadgets and supplies. There’s always something new and intriguing to make our crafting experience more fun and easier, and our finished product more polished and beautiful. Much of my shopping is with on-line stores since many of the brick and mortar stores in my locale are no longer in business. To make room for new stuff, I regularly purge and donate supplies I no longer use to neighborhood schools and my church. I’d love to craft every day if I could but– oh well…

I have been stamping since 1968 or so. At that time I was carving my own stamps from erasers using an Xacto knife and selling note cards to my kids’ teachers! And, I was involved in swapping “friendship” booklets through the mail using my carved stamps. Then, life got busy and fast forward to 1995. I attended a demonstration of heat embossing at a Barnes & Noble and was immediately hooked. I took classes, worked part-time in a stamp store and taught classes myself. I am now 80 years old and still love stamping. It is fun to read all of the comments from your subscribers.

I live in a southwest suburb of Chicago, IL with my wonderful husband (Pete) of 30 years and my equally wonderful son (Peter), who’s almost 19. We have two kitties. 5 years old Rusty, who’s the sweetest cat I’ve ever met and 1 year old Storm, who’s a little crazy… OK, a lot crazy, but we love him. I’ve been a card maker for over 30 years and it all started when a friend who sold Stampin Up asked me to make some sample cards for her parties. I used to scrapbook when my son was younger, but haven’t in several years now. Of course I still have enough pattern paper to stock a small store. When I’m not crafting you can find me reading or watching TV. I love old Science Fiction movies from the late 50 and 60. My favorite is “THEM!” (giant ants). I’m currently on the Scrapy Land design team and have been on a couple of other teams in the last five years.

Ever since I was young I loved to draw, coming by it naturally, I guess, since my grandfather was a political cartoonist for several newspapers across the United States in the early 20th century. As an adult I let my artistic side subside as I focused on family and a career but rediscovered my love of creating when I took up card making 12 years ago and have been slightly obsessed ever since! My medium was typically watercoloring with inks or paint but I started working with Copic markers 18 months ago and am loving it!

My dream job that I aspired to as a kid was a typesetter or typeographer. I have been exposed to art since birth. My mom is an avid watercolor artist, quilter, and stained glass window designer. My step-dad was a graphic designer and worked for an advertising agency. I had boxes of paper larger than the size of a desk pad in every texture, shade and color you could imagine, that were samples from paper companies. The markers I adored were professional illustrator grade artists’ tools.

I developed a love of quality art tools before I was a teenager. In the 70’s and 80’s, my teachers in middle and high school routinely asked if they could keep my reports because they were so creative. I started dabbling in stamping in my twenties (30+ years ago) and enjoy making scrapbook layouts and cards. My favorite tools now are my die-cutting machines, although I love any color medium.

I was not part of a big clan as there was just me and my brother in my family. Talents include playing the guitar, which isn’t really notable, except for the fact that I can play by ear, as well as transpose keys without a problem. I passed on the love of stringed instruments to my daughters who play the violin, and harp.

Another talent that was passed on to me from my mother is my interest in sewing which I am currently using in my job as a seamstress. I work on the NFL game jerseys, specifically the Falcons, Patriots, and Panthers. My favorite treats are sweet!!

I’m an only child and I spent days with my grandmother who everyone called “Granny.” Granny ran a little country store where the whole community would come up and talk. The women would string beans and shuck corn and the men would just talk or play cards. I remember sitting on a stool at the big freezer and making Christmas cards with construction paper, glitter, glue, and crayons. I don’t remember making cards at any other time. Fast forward, I went back to school in 2007at the age of 50 and while taking a Publisher class I rediscovered how much I liked to make pretty things. Of course these were brochures and such but this led to me taking Graphic Design. I loved it but I saw just how talented these young people were. I kept up but unfortunately the real world of design leans toward the young. I guess if I had been more ambitious I might could have had a career but I’ve always been timid. The last year of graphic design I watched my first You Tube on paper crafting, card-making in particular. I love making beautiful things that people love and I guess I’ll continue creating things until I can’t. Currently I am renovating my mom’s house and I can’t wait to be done with my big craft room. All my supplies are packed up and I’m just itching to get back to crafting!

Hi! I am someone a mom of 3 and a speech therapist for children with autism. I love both those things, but have very little “me” time. I love that crafting is something I can do a few minutes here and there and I can still complete pretty projects somewhat frequently. I love to make pretty things and share them with others, and it is also something I can share with my kids (they love using my stuff and crafting with me). I also have anxiety problems, so it is a little therapy on busy days when I just need a few minutes to myself!
