DIY Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Put your cardmaking supplies to good use by starting the school year right and showing your teacher how much you appreciate them! These adorable DIY gift boxes are easy to make and perfect for giving a small token of appreciation to the teachers in your life!

It’s back to school time and I really like to show a little teacher appreciation at the start of the year. Teachers work so hard throughout the year, why not give them a little something to let them know you’re looking forward to the school year with them! Today I’m sharing two packaging ideas using some Essentials by Ellen products.

For my first project, I’m using the House Box and the House Box Add-On to create a tiny little school house. The House Box Add-On has a scalloped roof that I cut from some Essentials by Ellen woodgrain embossed cardstock. I also cut a tiny door from that woodgrain embossed paper and adhered it over the door of the house I die cut. I covered the tiny window with some vellum, but if you’re filling it with decorative sweets you can leave it open for a peek inside!

The house die is perfectly sized for a tiny token of appreciation for your new teacher or that special teacher in your life. I’m tucking a few pieces of chocolate & a chapstick in these for my kids’ new teachers.

I used the scalloped circle tag by Mama Elephant for the tags. The little apple from the Everyday Doodles stamp set by Essentials by Ellen make the perfect finishing touch! I have three kids, so I love that these projects come together quickly so I can make several to hand out the first week of school. If your family has been at a school for a while, there might a librarian or office secretary that you’d like to include on your gift list!

If you’d like to show your appreciation with a gift card to help with school supplies, you can make a quick little gift box from a 6×6 paper pad.

I notch out the lid with a small circle punch to make this gift box easier to open. The new shipping tags die by Essentials by Ellen is stamped with school supplies from the Teacher Lady stamp set. I typed up a little message on the tag, but many of the sentiments in the Teacher Lady stamp set would work great for this project.
