Hi Folks! Kelly here with a set of tags inspired by the “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” Christmas carol. Last year we finally answered our youngest son’s questions about the magic of Christmas. He seemed to take it well, and at the end of our conversation I asked if he now understood what this song means. The different looks on his face as he was processing everything were precious, and I tried not to be too sad about our kids passing yet another childhood milestone.

These tags (made with the Shipping Tags by Julie Ebersole) are meant for the guy who stands in for Santa when he doesn’t have the energy to pick out presents at 2:00 in the morning on Black Friday, when he’s too busy to track down the elusive Star Wars Lego set, or when he’s too busy to wrap all the presents the night before Christmas.

The Leading Ladies – Leading Gentleman by Brandi Kincaid set has the perfect guy who can even dress up as Santa … who knew?! The set actually comes with an add-on mustache and beard for the gentleman. If you use the die cut versions of these they look like part of Santa’s costume. His shirt can be made into a Santa-like suit just by coloring it red, and leaving the collar and button section white. The Santa hat is actually from Bear Ware 2 by Julie Ebersole but it fits our gentleman just fine.

Santa’s very unofficial helper is from Leading Ladies – Dog Lady by Brandi Kincaid. The only modification I made to her was to give her a Christmas shirt under her sweater, with the help of the Christmas tree stamp in Bear Ware 2. Santa’s biggest question is stamped on the second tag from Retro Holiday Greetings. On a present I’ll stack these tags in an offset manner so you can see the tag underneath. I’m considering keeping this tag for my December Daily album, and if so I’ll put these tags back-to-back in a clear sleeve so you can see both sides.

I realize not everyone owns the Leading Gentleman stamp set (what, why not?!) so I wanted to make sure there was a way you could still create a tag inspired by this song.

All you need to create a  set of tags with the same theme (a Mr. and Mrs. at Christmas time) is to stamp the same critter/creature/animal/character twice and give them different accessories. For example, this tag has the bear from All Inside by Julie Ebersole stamped twice, at different heights. The gray bear is dressed like the leading gentleman, and the white bear has the cute antlers from Bear Ware 4 by Julie Ebersole.

The sentiment, again, is from Retro Holiday Greetings, and can be as sweet and innocent as you want to make it ; )

I love how all eight of the sentiments in Retro Holiday are the perfect size to fit on a Shipping Tag … this would be a great opportunity to make a whole set of the tags!

Sure hope you’ve been getting a steady dose of inspiration. As this is only the third day of tags, be sure to check back daily for even more inspiration from the rest of the Ellen Hutson team and special guests. I promise you’ll be inspired!

Kelly isn’t the only tag maker who is feeling inspired today! Check out what these designers have created…
