DIY Circus Party with Essentials by Ellen

The Essentials by Ellen Life’s A Circus stamps & dies are perfect for creating DIY circus party invites, favors & tags!

Hello, Adelina here sharing a few fun ideas for creating a personalized circus themed birthday party using the Life is A Circus stamp set along with the new 2-in-1 Box die and the Circus Add-on die!

I limited myself to three colors and created party favors, an invitation and a gift tag that matches my theme. If you’re going to create multiple invitations, you don’t want to color a stack of them. Pick a color for the sentiments on your card front and keep everything else black & white. Type your invitation details on your computer and print them as an insert in the invitation card. It’s all about efficiency when you’re mass-producing for a party.

To create a party favor using the 2-in-1 Box die, stamp a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with the Swirl Background stamp. Then die cut the paper with the box die.

The 2-in-1 box die comes with a perfectly sized tag die, all that’s missing is a cute little image and a sentiment. Some black and white twine with a gift tag + a couple of die cut images is the perfect finishing touch for this party favor.

Remember that EBE Treat Bag Template? Pull that out for party favors! Add a couple of Hershey’s kisses, a chapstick and a balloon to create a sweet gift bag that you can die cut using some Essentials by Ellen Modern Graphics cardstock.

Stamp the “admit one” image several times on some white cardstock that matches your color scheme and create a band that goes around the treat bag to tie in the circus theme. No need to color images for this treat bag, just die cut the Circus Add-on and adhere it to the front!

If you’re in need of a gift tag for a present that matches your theme, stamp your images in a few of the colors you’re using. I stamped mine and die cut them. I die cut the rectangle dies that are included in the 2-in-1 box die set and used them as gift tags.

The banner is made from the flag die that is included in the Circus Add-on die set. A little embossing, more of that black and white twine and you’ve got the perfect finishing touch for a wrapped gift.

TIPS FOR PARTY PLANNING:

  1. Keep your color scheme simple. Pick 2-3 colors and use them throughout your projects to tie everything together.
  2. Clean & simple is easiest for mass producing invitations. It also looks really elegant! So if you don’t have colored cardstock, just use white or black.
  3. Use the same twine or ribbon throughout your projects. You can tie your favor boxes together with the same twine you use on your invitations.
  4. Stamp your images in colors that match your color scheme so that you don’t have to color the images. Copic coloring is great for a single birthday card, but when you’re making several invitations embossing an image stamped in color will look just as good.
