DIY Notecard Set With Essentials by Ellen

Is there anything sweeter than a handmade card? How about a whole set of adorable mini cards?!

Check out Lisa’s fantastic mini notecards with the Essentials by Ellen Clever Sausage stamps & dies that fit perfectly into the Two-In-One Box!

Hey there! It’s Lisa here and I have a project to share with you using the new Essentials by Ellen Two-In-One Box that’s sure to brighten someone’s day: a set of little notes.

I can think of so many ways to use these:

  • Put them in a lunchbox – for kids of all ages!
  • Use as a gift tag on a birthday package!
  • Leave one for a friend – or even a stranger – to randomly find! Imagine stumbling across the “nice buns” one at a coffee shop HA!
  • Give a whole box full to a non-crafty friend!

These are so much fun to make – I gotta confess that I was giggling the whole time I was making them! 🙂

I started out by cutting two box panels out of white cardstock and then I stamped all over ‘em with black ink and stamps from the Clever Sausage set. I love the look this gives! Pro tip: remember to flip one of the box panels over before stamping. While I was at it I stamped a bunch of dog-gos on white cardstock and die cut them out to use later.

Then I grabbed some scraps of watercolor paper and splashed on some color. The trick here is to put on some music and just color away – don’t try to think about it too much. I’ve really been into making backgrounds like this lately – it’s a great stress reliever. #neededthat

Next I used the stitched panel that’s meant for the side of the box to cut out my card fronts. I LOVE getting more from my supplies like this and I can totally see using that stitched die over and over. BONUS!

To make the little notecards, I placed the card fronts on some white cardstock and then trimmed a notecard to use a template. I’m not one to measure these things – I just eyeballed it. Then I used my trusty template to make a whole set.

Assembling the box is super easy – just add a little adhesive tape and you’re good to go!

I thought it needed a little something so I decided to make a little sticker closure with the new Essentials by Ellen Hex Frames and the Stripe Background! Love me some stripes.

And that was that! Thanks so much for joining me, and let me know if ya decide to leave a little card somewhere for random strangers to find – I’d love to hear!
