Handmade cards with ink blended backgrounds are beautiful but if you’re short on crafty time, we have a shortcut for you!
Sparkly space aliens are venturing out into the solar system on today’s project! Julie’s using an Action Wobbler to give her rocket ship some fun movement and the Essential Oval Shapes to create a planet surface, complete with a little crater for a tiny one-eyed cutie to peek out of.
TIPS:
- Save time spent blending ink by using colored card stock; tinting the outer edges of panels and die cut shapes will give them more depth and dimension and it works well for creating ombré effects.
- If your background is quite colorful, use accent coloring and white space on foreground images for more visual contrast and pop.
- Larger size Action Wobblers can be trimmed down to conceal them behind focal images or try using Mini Action Wobblers. The Tim Holtz Snips are perfect for this because they can cut through almost anything!
- If you add Stickles and Glossy Accents at the very end, AFTER assembling your card, you’re far less likely to accidentally smear anything . . . just sayin’ . . .
