Don’t you love when you can create 3 beautiful & different cards with the same stamp set?! We are thrilled to have our amazing EH Design Ambassador Julie Ebersole here to share 3 gorgeous card ideas using the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Chrysanthemum!

In today’s video, Julie is creating 3 different cards from the Mondo Chrysanthemum set. She’ll demonstrate how she uses scratch paper to pre-plan her project and how to use the MISTI for stamping different portions of a design without having to clean and remove the stamps, which is helpful for mass production. Julie doesn’t like to spend a lot of time coloring in large detailed images and is happy to share some of her favorite short cuts!
TIPS:
- Don’t have masking paper? Make your mask from typing paper and apply Zig Two Way Glue Pen to the back. Allow it to dry until tacky (not wet) and it will be repositionable.
- If you are planning to heat emboss masked images, heat emboss one portion at a time for best results.
- Heat embossing images acts as a “reservoir” and work exceptionally well for watercolor work when using watercolor brush markers.
- Don’t have Distress Paint for creating spatter? Try pressing a Distress OXIDE Ink Pad against an acrylic block and flicking it with your waterbrush onto your project. While not perfect, the acrylic block also gives you more control over where your spatter will land on your project.

Mesmerizing, indeed! I loved watching the leaf process! I slept thinking it looks great, then you’d add more color and it looked even better! I, too, am not one to color florals but you’ve taught me there are lots of creative options. I’m with you, girlfriend!!! Thanks, as always.
Beautiful cards from one set, proving once again to me that I don’t necessarily have to have it all. Lol! Thanks for sharing your ideas and tips!
When I grow up I want to be you!! Great cards, and I love the colored leaves. I don’t have the eye or the patience to get those results. Thanks for sharing.
so inspiring … so many ideas to tuck away for later
I just love these! All so beautiful!
