Caffeinated Card Ideas With Essentials by Ellen

Are you needing a little caffeine today? How about some adorable caffeinated coffee cards? We are thrilled to welcome our friend Erica back today to share some fantastic coffee themed cards today!

Hi everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Erica and I’m so excited to be guesting on the Ellen Hutson blog today!

The stamp set I have used for my cards today is the Love Latte Stamp & Die Combo. I am such a sucker for a good coffee stamp set, and this one has some cracking sentiments in it.

I started out by stamping up the coffee cup on Neenah card stock with Copic friendly ink and coloured them in. I have an issue with limiting myself and stamped it up four times. Yep. Why stop at one? I’m the same with my coffee intake, I never stop at one!

One of these was stamped up on a card base directly, and coloured in with pink Copics and browns for the coffee itself. On this one, I stamped up the sentiment ‘hug in a mug’ in Icing On A Cake and the little hearts in It’s A Girl. I finished the card off with a few sequins from the Sparkling Clear Sequin mix from Pretty Pink Posh.

The second pink cup, coloured in with the same pink Copics, I used the coordinating diecut on. I also stamped up the coffee art stamp with the Embossing Pad and sprinkled White Puff Powder from WOW! On it. I heat set this with the WOW! Heat tool.

I wanted some options for my backgrounds so I did some ink smooshing on three panels with It’s A Girl, Over Coffee and Icing On The Cake. After they are all dry, I picked my fave and used the Petal Connections Cover Plate from Catherine Pooler on it. I didn’t pick out all the negative bits but left lots in it. This I adhered to a white card base. With foam tape, I adhered the cup and of course I had to use the sentiment ‘A day without coffee is like… Just kidding, I have no idea.’ These are stamped up on white card stock with black ink, and I trimmed these down to very slim strips.

One of the sentiments from the stamp set is so funny I had to use that one too. ‘It’s Too Peopley Outside’, I say that ALL. THE. TIME. So naturally I had to use it. I wasn’t quite sure how to use it at first but then I spotted the cute little cloud too! Too sweet. I didn’t want just a totally white background so I added a soft pastel rainbow with some Copics. This is super simple colouring, by sweeping the chisel nib in a arch. This is not anything technical at all, anyone can do this.

With the colouring, and I use that word loosely, done, it was an easy job to finish off the card by stamping up the sentiment and the cloud with the help of a Mini MISTI. I used the same Copic friendly ink as before, this is Blackout Detail ink from Ink On 3. I also added a little Clear Wink Of Stella to the cloud and, of course, some more sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

With that I am done for today! I want to thank Ellen and the team for having me, I always have a great time playing with the Essentials By Ellen goodies. I hope you found some inspiration here with me. I’d love to hear which one of these is your fave so please do leave a comment here and let me know!

Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica!
