Hi Friends, Emily here sharing a fun interactive card that’s full of POP! Why just look at a cute pinata, when you can create the experience of smashing a pinata with a burst of candy and confetti upon opening your card. All you need is the EBE Confetti Flinger and YAY! Designer Dies to turn the Hit It Stamp Set into a Pinata Party! Let’s Get this Party Started!

Party Setup: The Decorations

Let’s start by prepping the party for a fun time by setting up our Pinata and colorful decorations.

After stamping the Pinata Image from Hit That! with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder, I colored my Pinata with Fluorescent  Zig Clean and Clear Real Brush Markers. For the stitched border, I used the Essentials Stitched Rectangle Die and did a running stitch with pink and orange DMC floss; running my pink stitches all the way around the rectangle first and then running the orange stitches to close-up the running stitch pattern. I threaded a piece of pink floss through the top stitching hole and adhered the end to the back of the Pinata image. For extra whimsy, you could leave the pinata swinging on the thread but I stuck it down with a piece of foam tape. For the YAY! Sentiment, I blended and smashed several blue and green ink colors together on a piece of White Card Stock. With my customer color paper, I ran the YAY! die through my die cutting machine and then adhered the YAY! letters to the bottom of the card with thin foam adhesive squares.

“Filling” the Pinata

For the pinata candies, I stamped, colored and die-cut the candies from the Hit That! Stamp Set. For the blue/green confetti, I used the custom color paper that I created from the YAY! step above and ran the Confetti die through my die cutting machine. I also ink blended and smashed orange/pink ink to a piece of White Cardstock to create the orange/pink Confetti. Then I adhered the confetti and candy pieces to the inside of my card; making sure I left room to add the Confetti Flinger Mechanism.

The Surprise Celebration

I added the Confetti Flinger to the inside of the card panel and for additional whimsy, I added the sentiments from Hit That! under the confetti flinger. Then I loaded the Confetti Flinger Envelope with the orange and green confetti and extra pieces of candy. I initiated the launch mechanism by lifting the Confetti Flinger to the top of the card and then carefully closed the card and inserted it into an envelope. When the recipient opens the card the Confetti will burst out of the card and I promise it will be a smash hit…as I had several members of my family test it out and boy they were surprised! 🙂
