Do you have a favorite color palette you use often when cardmaking? A combo that always looks beautiful and makes you happy? Carly does and she’s here today to share!
I would probably tell you that mint is my favorite color (if you asked, haha) but the color combo I find myself using over & over again when cardmaking is pink and orange!
I always love it! I think its perfect for 3 of the 4 seasons of the year (but I’m still working on it for winter) plus it’s great for all occasions. I also love the how pink and orange combine when watercolored or blended. They are the perfect pair!
For this card I started by stamping the Mondo Tulip twice (at different angles) along the bottom of a Bristol card panel in waterproof black ink. I used Bristol because it is my favorite for smooth & easy ink blending.
Next I used Glossy Accents to “mask” the tulips by filling the inside of the stamped image with the Glossy Accents. I used a craft pick to help spread the Glossy Accents to tight spots and “erase” when I went outside the lines. You can see later that I didn’t do a perfect job but I’ll keep practicing 😉
Once the tulips were completely covered in Glossy Accents, I set it aside to dry.
When the Glossy Accents were completely dry, I used blending brushes to apply Distress Ink Picked Raspberry and Carved Pumpkin over the top. The excess ink wipes right off the Glossy Accents, leaving the tulips still white.
I finished with a little water splatter and a sentiment.
Have I convinced you that pink & orange are perfect together? In case you’re on the fence, here are a few more of my favorite pink & orange projects (just click the pics to see more)…
