Happy Memorial Day! It’s Sandy Allnock here…. and I had a red white and blue card bouncing around in my head – Memorial Day seemed a good day to share it. This is a holiday when we remember and honor those who died in service of our country; while it’s an American holiday, people all around the world can celebrate their heroes too!
This card looks a lot more difficult than it is – once I did some REALLY simple math, counting the holes and seeing what number divides fairly evenly into it – I just started the sewing! Watch the video below or click HERE to see it on YouTube.
See? That wasn’t so hard, was it? The trick I found to make these easier is to keep both colors threaded, then you can switch back and forth between colors without re-threading. I think that’s always been the hardest part for me, thus I avoided any stitchery.
The final touches were adding a popped border around the edges to cover the holes, and a hexagon in the center for the sentiment. With a little thread bow on it!
