Cardmaking, EBE by Julie Ebersole, Essentials By Ellen

Happy Halloween with Guest Susanna of @madeinmojave

Today we’re thrilled to welcome guest artist, Susanna of @madeinmojave to the blog. Susanna’s fabulous designs caught our eye on Instagram, and we think you’ll love her style as much as we do. She is featuring the brand new Essentials by Ellen Halloween Boo-quet by Julie Ebersole!

Hey there, crafty pals! My name is Suzanna; you may know me on Instagram and around the internet as Made in Mojave. I’m so excited to be here with you today sharing this card for the new release!

I started off selecting a few Distress Oxides from my stash – Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, and Black Soot. Using my MISTI, I stamped one of the ghost and bat clusters in each of these five colors.

Then, I used the coordinating dies to cut each of those out, alternating between colors for each one.

I really liked the layout of the boo-quet, and knew I wanted to keep them in that cluster on my card. To make this easier on myself, I stamped the cluster as a whole in a light grey ink. I knew I would be covering that up, but like that if it shows, it creates a small shadow of each object.

Using foam tape, I bumped up the middle ghost and each of the small bats. I then adhered the remaining ghosts using my tape runner, which gives a variation in dimension.

I stamped my sentiment below the cluster, and finished up the front of the card with splatters of my Black Soot Distress Oxide. To complete the card, I created a thin mat in a matching color, and love the way this makes the entire thing pop!

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope this card lends a bit of inspiration to you while you play with these fun new releases. Happy Crafting!
