How will you celebrate International Coffee Day? Therese is here today sharing a fun play on words to kick start your day!
Hi there, it’s Therese here and ‘Happy International Coffee Day’! I am celebrating by enjoying a little caffeine and sharing a clean & simple card with you….. but first, here’s my secret…. I like tea lol. So today I decided it would be fun to add some ‘hot foil’ to this card design, and lets see how we go.
Step 1 – I chose some fab Essentials By Ellen goodies to start… and we are talking coffee, so I used the Latte Love Stamp Set.
Step 2 – I started by stamping out the coffee cup and did some simple Copic colouring and heat embossed the ‘heart’ on top.
Step 3 – Next I added some hot foil Rose Gold Tiny Stars Background to Desert Storm Cardstock.
Step 4 – This was my first attempt at hot foiling die cuts and I used the Tall N Skinny Alpha and it’s really easy to do!
Simply heat the metal shim (use the middle setting) that comes with the Foilpress and add the foil (pretty side down), then add the die cuts and an extra shim of cardstock for pressure (I needed 2). Heat for 15 seconds and then pass this through the Gemini machine as usual. I burnished the letters with a bone folder before removing the release paper.
Step 5 – Die cut the remaining portion of the sentiment which was created from the Block Words Die Set. Then assemble the card.
Hope you can see that fabulous Rose Gold hot foil shine! Thanks so much for joining me here today and I hope you are inspired to add some shine to your cards!

Fabulous card, I like that you can use does you have with the hot foil as I’m still procrastinating about getting one. Thank you for sharing
Such a fun card, Therese! Love the play on words, too!
Wow! What an awesome card! Love the foiling!
I’ve dabbled with hot foil (I have the Glimmer system). I feel inspired to try again, especially if die cuts can be used. The pride of the hot plates is a little daunting. Thank YOU! X
