Add a Stitched Surprise to Your Card

Are you new to stitching on cards? Our resident bearded design ambassador, Daniel is too! In this post, he shows us how to add a stitched surprise to a card with some shiny thread and pink sequins.

Hey there! Daniel, here, with a fun use of the smallest of the Essential Ovals for Stitching dies. I added a few rows of agave plants across the panel by repeatedly die cutting the oval. Then, I added a gold stitch and flowers made of Providence Sequins.

Tips:

  1. If you don’t have a little needle threader handy, press your thread end with a dab of liquid adhesive to flatten it out and hold the strands together. You’ll spend a lot less time threading your needle.
  2. Use tape to hold down the cut strands on the back of your project. I used double-sided adhesive and left the backing on.
  3. To line up die cut letters on the front of your project, use the negative space from the original panel as your template, gluing the letters into place perfectly.
