It’s teacher appreciation week and Design Ambassador Emily Mydlowski is with us today sharing two no-coloring but bright & cheerful cards using the Leading Ladies Teacher Set and a few of her kiddo friends.
Hi Friends! Emily here with you today sharing two Teacher Appreciation Cards using the Leading Leader Teacher Stamp Set (plus a Leading Lady Little Girl & Little Gentleman) and the Block Letters and Number Designer Dies.
Inspired by coloring book pages, I thought it would be fun to leave the stamped images black and white while adding in pops of primary school colors with Block Alpha and Number die-cuts. Opting out of coloring images is a great way to add interest to your card designs without spending tons of time coloring.
For my first card, I focused on red…the color of a teacher’s red apple and report grading pen. I also wanted to get the kiddos involved so I stamped the Leading Leading Little Girl and Little Gentleman to an A2 Panel. Then I stamped and die-cut the Leading Lady Teacher and a few school supplies in black ink. Then I adhered the Teacher to the center of card in between her students and tucked the school supplies into her arms along with adhering her apple mug to her hands. Then it was time to add in all the pops of Primary Red. For the A+, I stacked an A die cut from the Block Alpha Set and the + is from the Nordic Cross Cover Plate that I colored black with a marker. With an R29 Copic I colored in the apple and lunch bag pockets. It to finish the card, I added the sentiment little black star embellishments and then adhered the decorated panel to a bright red card-base. And of course, some rosy cheeks in R20.
For my second card, it’s all about the ABCs and 123s. The Teacher Lady was stamped in the center of an A2 white card panel with her apply mug die-cut. Then beside her I adhered the primary block alphas and numbers in red, yellow and blue card stock. To finish the card, I added the “we can count on you” sentiment right under the numbers for a little pun-fun and then adhered the decorated card panel to a bright yellow card base…and of course, some rosy cheeks in R20.
So there we are friends, two coloring book outline cards with bright pops of primary colors perfect for saying thank you to your favorite teacher. I hope you enjoyed my post today and it inspires you to add pops of color without much coloring at all. Thanks for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!
