Stretch Your Dies with Essentials by Ellen

Is there anything better than getting more from your cardmaking supplies? Carly is here today to share how she gets a little more from her dies with a strawberry themed shaker card (in honor of National Strawberry Month of course)!

One great way to stretch your supplies is to see which 3D dies might make great “flat” die cuts for cards.

The Essentials by Ellen Berry Basket Designer Die is an ADORABLE 3D basket die and it also makes a great flat die cut to add to cards. Here’s how I used it on this shaker card…

Die cut one (instead of the four needed to make the 3D basket). Trim off tab and bottom.

Fold top flap down and adhere. Add another piece of double-sided tape below flap to hold twine if desired. Ends of twine can be folded around to back and secured or trimmed.

Adhere strawberries to back of basket to make it “full”.

Add foam tape to top of basket.

Adhere basket to card over shaker window and trim off excess.

Another fun way to use small stamps & dies is to make them into shaker bits like these strawberries.

Tell us your favorite ways to stretch your cardmaking supplies!
