Essentials by Ellen Reveal Week – Day Two

Welcome to Day Two of the Essentials by Ellen Reveal Week! We are SEW excited to continue sharing our beautiful new June Release, leading up to our launch on Friday, June 10th at 9:00 AM PST! Everyday will be packed with colorful inspiration and previews of the new release from our incredible Design Team, and we’re closing out the week with a celebratory Instagram Hop. If you missed yesterday, check out Day One HERE!

Today, we are featuring:

  • Old Spool Stamp Set
  • Thread Friends Die Set

From Angela Simpson:

“If you like white backgrounds but your card looks too plain when left entirely blank, create some subtle texture by using multiple white die cuts and stacking them on top of one another.”

From Therese Calvird:

“Using a repeated die cut image is a great way to create a quick fun background!”

From Daniel West:

“To get the exact color of thread you want, you can press your die cuts directly onto an ink pad. Here I used Catherine Pooler inks because the sponge pad makes it so easy to go direct to paper.”

From Tiffany Pryce Russom:

“Use the double die cutting technique to add interest to your basic shapes. For example, if you die cut a cloud, look for a background die that you can use or dry emboss with.”

From Carly Tee Minner:

“While you’re creating a card with the Thread Friends die set, cut a few extra bobbins and get organized. After wrapping embroidery thread on the bobbins die cuts, they look adorable on a binder ring!”

From Emily Leiphart:

“When creating repeating linear designs like this mini slimline, keep the number of colors the same as the number of images. Rotate the colors for each element, including the dog, wrap and loose thread so that each color is represented in each image.”

From Emily Mydlowski:

“Do you stitch with gold or silver needles? Die-cutting the needles with silver and gold foil cardstock gives that perfect extra touch to your paper stitching projects.”

From Carissa Wiley:

“Stamp your sentiment in a colored ink…it doesn’t have to be black…for a perfectly coordinated sentiment strip.
