Julie is showcasing the new seashells set, shadow box style!
Hi, it’s Julie! I love the beautiful elegance of these two-step Shells; I’ll be using some lovely ink colors and spot foiling to kick them up a notch and showcase them as a collection, in a shadow box on my card front! Best of all, you can easily mass produce/die cut images and have them ready to go for any time you need to make a gorgeous, elegant card quickly!
TIPS
- Stamp all the solid background shells onto quarter sheets of white card stock using lightest ink color; clean the stamps well but leave on the MISTI, if you want to change colors.
- Swap all the solid images for the detail images, positioning them over their solid counterparts; ink up with a darker or contrasting color and stamp the details; repeat until all the quarter sheets have been stamped.
- Position the dies over the images and secure them in place with a low tack tape; die cut and eject the shell shapes.
- Do not remove the dies, but instead place that panel over the next set of images; since they were all stamped in the same position, the dies will line up in the right location. Run the two layers through the die cutting machine.
- Save one of these negative panels for future use as a template.
- Store all your stamped panels or die cut images in a cello bag with the stamp set so they’re ready to go when you need them!
- A Two Way Glue is perfect for spot-foiling; Zig brand goes on blue but dries clear AND must be allowed to dry “tacky” to the touch, not wet, in order for spot-foiling to work properly.
- Use the “pads” of your finger tips to apply foil for optimal results.
