Happy Holidays! Julie here with a tag based on one of my favorite holiday songs, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”.

The first thing that sprang to mind for creating the tag, is the Bundled Up stamp set–with a sock hat, scarf, mittens, and socks, the whole idea just came together! I ADORE solid stamps and ink blending directly on the stamp–it is a cool textural effect that really can’t be achieved using other methods and it reminds me so much of off-set printing and mid-century art style!

I considered using tiny pom poms to embellish my tags, but then remembered White Liquid Appliqué would be PERFECT because you just apply it wherever you want a fluffy/puffy effect! It doesn’t look super white when it’s wet but turns white as it is heated and puffs up.

TIP:

Sure beats the heck out of gluing on hundreds of tiny pom poms, am I right?!

HOW TO:

  1. Die cut tag & reinforcer; glue reinforcer to tag.
  2. Use a MISTI platform to tamp images onto tag using palest color of ink.
  3. Reink same images with darker color ink, using a sponge, to add shading to areas desired, blending out directly on the stamp.
  4. Stamp over original impression to achieve two tone effect.
  5. Add Liquid Appliqué for accent; allow to dry.
  6. Apply heat to Liquid Appliqué using heat embossing tool.
  7. Add twine.
