4 Quick Tips & Techniques for Masking for Beginners

Hi crafty friends! It’s Jeannie here and today, I wanted to share one of my favorite types of cards to create – a one layer scene card!

I’m using some of the stamp sets from the recent Essentials by Ellen birthday release. The focal item for this scene card is the Party Time stamp set with a sentiment from the HB2U stamp set.

Whenever I want to create a scene card, I like to use as many images as possible to create the fullest scene possible. There are so many different images in the Party Time stamp set. Along with the critters, you can even give them accessories like party hats and cake!

By doing so, you have to plan out how you want everything stamped and when it’s a bit complicated, a template really helps. Feel free to stamp out a template scene without any masking. You can use that template to line up your images so they are stamped in the same exact position.

Remember, you want to stamp out the images that are out in front first, mask them off, insert your template, line up your next images, and repeat.
