It’s Justine and today I am looking forward to showing you some masking with the new release from Ellen Hutson and how to create a scene using stencils from My Favorite Things. These supplies make me long for summer and I’m excited to show you how to make fun scenes with the new Leading Ladies.
When creating a scene, you can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. I think my card would rank as somewhere in the middle. Whatever image is going to be in the very front of your scene (in this case the Leading Lady), stamp her and mask her off. At this point, I could have also added small beach accessories but I chose to keep it simple. Remember, if you are using her hat, stamp that first, mask and then stamp the lady since the hat would be in front of her face.

After I masked her off, I used the Drafts and Hills stencil to create the sand. I blended using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo oxide inks. I then used masking tape to mask of the horizon and added the water using Salty Ocean. Then for the sky, I used the Mini Cloud Stencil and Tumbled Glass ink.
I hope you have fun creating fun scenes with your leading ladies and give masking a try. Start of simple with a flower and a leaf and work your way up to more complex scenes. You can create some very intricate and beautiful one layer cards that are perfect for tossing in the mail!
