Creating With The Essentials By Ellen Leading Ladies

Hi everyone, Ardyth here with the July installment of “Innovations with Ardyth”.

This month I used a whole lot of the Leading Ladies stamps along with bright colours to make a card that is sure to bring back a BUNCH of memories!

This card is not difficult to make; no tricky techniques or special supplies, but there’s a lot of work, so even before I started, I knew it would take some time.

I made a detailed plan before I started working – a mock up with measurements on it so I knew how it would all fit together, a list of stamp sets I needed and a list of steps (ie. background, stamping, blending) to keep me organized and focused. With so much to do, I didn’t want to be making mistakes that would create extra work!

I blended ink onto 9 squares of white cardstock for the backgrounds in the grid of people, and then I stamped the same colours of ink onto a white 5×7 inch card base to create a ‘groovy’ border.

I stamped the heads and shoulders of all the people I needed, then quickly coloured them with Copic markers.

I trimmed each one so they fit on their square and popped the head up with foam tape.

For the sentiment, I used letters from the Block Words die set (and from the word dies included with Mondo Sakura) to create THANKS and BUNCH (I did a little work on a G to make it into the C I needed!). I cut them 3 times and stacked them together before colouring them with the ink pads, using a direct-to-paper technique.

To finish the card, I added some Star Dust stickles to the BUNCH portion of the sentiment.

I hope you enjoy watching how this card came together in this video!
