Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today for this month’s installment of Exploring with Emily. This month, I’m doing a little mini-tutorial on my favorite techniques with Polychromos Pencils.
I was so excited when Ellen brought these fabulous pencils into the shop, because they’re one of my absolute favorite mediums. You can achieve great depth and beautifully smooth blends with these pencils, and I’ve got some beginner’s information, as well as a few tricks to show you how to make the most of your pencils!
This video is a little longer than normal, but it’s got quite a lot of information and demonstration, so I hope you’ll find it interesting!

This is so pretty! Love the color combo, and it’s always a treat to pick up some coloring tips!
So pretty and such a labor of love! I really like the white ink with colored pencil on the craft color cardstock. Thanks for the tutorial!
Oh boy, now I’m going to have to add polychromos pencils to my wish list! (As well as that In the Weeds set–I had promised myself NO more floral stamps because I only have a gazillion of them…) Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card, Emily! It’s absolutely fabulous! 🙂
Beautiful card! Thank you for the great tutorial and tips!
