Interactive Twist and Turn Card Featuring the Exclusive Camp Wanna Stamp + Video

Good morning! Have you picked up your exclusive Camp Wanna Stamp set yet? If not, you’ll want to grab it soon! Today EH Design Ambassador Jessica Frost-Ballas is sharing a fun interactive twist and turn card tutorial so you can make those cute critters paddle their canoe across the card!

Hello! Jess here with a video tutorial using the exclusive Avery Elle and Ellen Hutson collaboration – Peek-A-Boo Pals: Camp Wanna Stamp! I’ve paired the set with the Twist and Turn Die-namics set from MFT Stamps to create a summer scene where my bear and raccoon are paddling their canoe across a beautiful blue lake!

You can watch the video below or over at our YouTube channel!

I started by stamping the cute critters, their paws, the fish, paddles, and canoe from Camp Wanna Stamp with copic-friendly ink and colored them with copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I used the following copic markers:

  • Bear – R35, R37, R39, R00, R02, E70, E71, E74, E77, E79, T6, T8
  • Raccoon – R00, R02, T0, T2, T4, T6, T8, T9
  • Canoe – R35, R37, R39, R59, E49
  • Fish – C1, C3, C5
  • Paddles – E23, E25, E27, E29, R35, R37, R39

Next I blended my background with distress oxide inks. I masked off my panel and blended Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, and Chipped Sapphire distress oxide ink for the water and Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for my sky.

I’d recommend watching the video for more detailed instructions but to summarize I needed to modify the MFT Twist and Turn Die-namics to fit better with the canoe so I punched a few extra holes to use in place of the holes included with the die set. This photo shows the modifications I added:

I assembled the mechanism as usual just using my new holes instead of the original ones. This just makes the mechanism narrower than the original as pictured here (top is the original and bottom is the modified):

After completing the mechanism I attached it to my card base panel and then adhered my blended background over it. I arranged my critters and canoe and adhered them with foam mounting tape.

As you pull the tab the critters and their paddles rock back and forth! To finish the card I added a heat-embossed sentiment from Camp Wanna Stamp and added accents to the water and critters with copic markers and a white paint pen!

I hope this inspires you to give your cards a little interactive twist and I can’t wait to see what you create with the adorable Peek-A-Boo Pals: Camp Wanna Stamp! Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day!

What white paint pen did you use? My white pens never seem to work as well as yours did, and I’ve tried so many.
