Tips For Making A Simple Set Of Stamped Cards

Do you know what your cardmaking supplies are perfect for? Creating simple & beautiful sets of cards to give as a gift (maybe even for Mother’s Day)! Carly is here with her tips on creating a set of simple stamped & watercolored cards!

There are a few gifts I think are wonderful for any occasion like sweet treats & handmade cards! Both are perfect even for the person who has everything because you can never have too much sugar or send too much happy mail!

This gift set is easy to put together with some basic embossing and really simple watercolor.

The first step is to stamp & emboss the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Amaryllis and Mondo Tulip on watercolor cardstock. I love using Bristol because I think the smooth finish makes it easier to “erase” when I go outside the lines. To clean up little mistakes I use a clean, wet brush or sometimes even a baby wipe.

I also like to stamp & emboss all my panels at once to save a little time. And I always make a few extras in case I knock over the paint water & splash a panel (this has totally happened) or something like that 🙂

After the panels are stamped & embossed, it’s time to paint! And there are so many great paint options like gorgeous Daniel Smith paints, Gansai Tambi or even ink pads & reinkers like I used. I put a few drops of Catherine Pooler reinkers on my non-stick craft sheet. And I paint really simply, not worried about realism but just having fun.

After painting all the panels and adding some paint splatter (another fun way to hide mistakes), let dry. Then adhere the panels to folded cards.

To make the set of cards feel even more special, stamp the flaps of envelopes.

Then bundle the cards & envelopes together with a little twine or ribbon and ta-da! I know moms will love this set because my mom did! She saw it on my desk and took it home before I could even add it to her Mother’s Day basket! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! And P.S. there’s a fab sale happening in the EH shop for Mother’s Day! Make sure you check it out HERE!
