Stretching Your Stamps Across the Seasons

Design Ambassador Emily Mydlowski is sharing a very special early delivery from the North Pole! A sleigh full of presents and the Coolest Peek-A-Boo Carolers Around. These Critters are ready to trade in their Summer of Stamping swimsuits for cozy sweaters, christmas caps and holiday cheer.

Hi Friends and Happy Early Holidays!! One of my favorite ways to stretch my stamps is to mix and match images from different sets. I especially enjoy combining newer sets with stamps that I’ve had in my stash and haven’t seen an ink pad for awhile. There’s something satisfying about connecting a brand new stamp set with your older collection pieces.

My Holiday Card idea started with the AHA moment when I realized the Santa Hat from the Leading Ladies-Holiday Shopper was a perfect fit on the Soak it Up Peek-A-Boo Critters. I could have stopped there but I realized these critters needed a Cool Ride so I could show off their cute little paws 🙂 That’s when I found the Sleigh in the EBE Bear Ware 5 Stamp Set along with the presents and a few other cool caps for the Critters to wear. Now, I was REALLY ready to share some Christmas Cheer!

I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored the images with Copic Markers along with a white gel pen to add in some polka dots and highlights. Isn’t it just the coolest thing when a little color twist can really stretch your stamps into new cardmaking seasons and reasons to send a little happy mail!!

Perfect Christmas Reds: R24/27/29

Go to Holiday Greens: G03/05/07 & YG41

Santa Hippo: N0/1/2/3 +R20

Cool Cat Caroler: YR01 & YR20 +R20

Reindeer Pup: E23/25/29 +R20

Big Bear Helper: E13/21/29/30 +R20

Once I had all the images colored, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and then went to town positioning & repositioning all the images to a card panel until everything looked just right. After all that work of getting the images into place, I needed to keep them together so I could add the adhesive and attach them to the card panel. To do this, I placed a piece of Peel N’ Stick over the images which allowed me to turn the images over in one turn while keeping them together. I then add pieces of thin tape over the die cuts with very small overlaps for a little extra security. Then I add foam adhesive and/or liquid glue to the back of the images and use the Peel N’ Stick “handles” to turn over all the images and position over the card panel. Once the images are adhered to the card panel, you can remove the Peel N’ Stick and smile at your perfectly placed images.

To finish the card, I adhered the Peek-A-Boo Pals paws with liquid adhesive. Then using my Misti and VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink, I added the Happy Holidays Sentiment from the EBE Love and Light Stamp Set. Then the decorated card panel was adhered to a Concord & 9th Clover Cardstock Base.

So there we are Friends, a fun and cute way to stretch your stamps across the seasons with a few color twists and mix & match images. I hope you enjoyed my post today and it inspires you to stretch your stamps in fun new ways. Thanks for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!
