I am honored to share that we are starting our 12 Tags of Christmas series tomorrow! I’m thrilled to be sharing the first tag I have made in a number of years inspired by a holiday themed song! My inspiration is the song, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” I love the sparkling lights and pretty baubles that are placed on our tree each year. Each one holds a story and it is a festive way for our family to recall trips and special events from our past. By using Piercing Plate 2, together with the Holly Jolly Christmas tree I followed my passion for all things stamped and stitched!
Begin by planning out the pattern. To simplify the process it helps to poke the holes front to back where the needle will be threaded. This also helps minimize errors and keeps the tiny holes intact, allowing for a cleaner look.
Beads require a special needle designed with a very small head. Stitch the pattern with 2-strands of embroidery thread first. Follow up with a single strand of metallic embroidery floss and a single bead. There are SO many different ways you can change up this design, but the simplest is to add a variety of different color or shaped beads.
Hot foil the Essentials by Ellen Star Background on Neenah Solar White. Stamp FaLaLa using Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink. Dry and then add a layer of color using a blending brush and Catherine Pooler’s Juniper Ink.

I have Piercing Plate 1, and I didn’t think I needed Piercing Plate 2. You are proving me wrong! Dang it! I love how versatile these piercing dies are–and you really can make it into anything with other dies! You are so ding dang creative! <3
