Essentials by Ellen Release Week – Day One

Welcome to Day One of the Essentials by Ellen Reveal Week! We are thrilled to start sharing our BEE-utiful new June Release, starting today leading up to our launch on Friday, June 10th at 9:00 AM PST! Everyday will be packed with inspiration and previews of the new release from our wonderful Design Team, and we’re closing out the week with a celebratory Instagram Hop.

Today, we are featuring:

  • Beehive Die Set
  • Honeycomb Background Builder Die
  • One in a Buzz-illion Stamp Set

From Therese Calvird:

“Stretch your dies! Why not try die cutting and using the negative space as a mask.  I did this with the Beehive and then easily added some shading with Distress Inks and details with Prismacolor Pencils.”

From Daniel Smith:

“Instead of coloring in the entire background of a scene, just dot in some color with a marker to give the impression of a background.”

From Angela Simpson:

“Sometimes die cut images look a little flat on their own. For the large beehive, I used an ink blending brush and applied ink with a very light hand in the middle. Then, I applied the ink more heavily around the edges to create more visual depth.”

From Emily Leiphart:

“If you don’t want to color, heat emboss intricate images on colored cardstock and keep the rest of the card neutral.”

From Carly Tee Minner:

“The Beehive die makes an adorable little shaped gift card!”

From Carissa Wiley:

“Use clear embossing powder over your die cut and colored honey jar to give it a really cool glass look.  Double up the layers of embossing powder for extra thick shine and dimension.”

From Emily Mydlowski:

“Need a lot of color with limited coloring time? Let colored cardstock do the coloring for you, like the bright and cheerful yellow beehives on both card designs!”

From Tiffany Pryce Russom:

“Remember to run your anti-static pouch along the interior shaker walls before closing up your shaker. This helps prevent your shaker bits from sticking to the shaker walls.”

We are BUZZING with excitement over these gorgeous designs.

Check back tomorrow for more inspiration previews that we are SEW excited for you to see!
