How To Make Easy Birthday Shaker Cards with Essentials by Ellen Dies

Do you need to make an extra special homemade birthday card? Maybe a card that sparkles & shakes? Well we can help because Carly is here with a quick cardmaking video showing the steps to make her favorite kind of sparkly shaker card that perfect for birthdays!

I love, LOVE shaker cards! And I really love it when they have a little extra sparkle…

The combo of ink blending and glitter paste just makes my heart happy!

Even just a little gloss & glitter is fabulous too!

I’ve developed a process for my glittery shaker cards and I’m sharing it today in this quick cardmaking process video…

TIPS:

  • Almost any die can become a shaker window!!!
  • Reinforce your card front with an extra panel when using a wet medium like glitter paste.
  • Use low-tack tape to make a border before ink blending & adding glitter because it is easier for foam tape to adhere to bare cardstock.
  • DIY glitter paste is super easy to make, just mix a clear liquid glue like Glossy Accents with glitter.
  • Make shaker “container” with foam tape and close with acetate before adhering to folded card.
