Hello and happy NEW YEAR everyone! I hope you’re ready for an amazing and creative year ahead!

For today’s project, I colored up two of the next-to-the-leading-ladies – a Little Lady and a Leading Gentleman! (Mama is Crafty Lady!) I stamped the little girl first and masked her with Eclipse Tape, then stamped the parents “behind” her. Watch the video below:

I chose colors from the skintone section of the Prismacolor Hex Chart (https://art-classes.com/product/prismacolor-hex-chart) and some colors for the hair from the browns section. Dad even got some facial hair!

I finished off the card off-camera by drawing a little line in to make the girl’s jumper look like a vest – and gave her lots of scout badges!

Prismacolor R21 is a pretty good simulation of Living Coral – though when using it to shade, you’ll need to do some creative color selections to find a good dark color (a warm brown) and do some gradation to lighten the color further. Stay tuned all week, as the design team will be providing all kinds of inspiration and tips!

I hope you’ll try to color some of the Leading Ladies – and now their family – with your own colored pencils or medium of choice. Give them specific outfits to match the folks you’ll mail the cards to!

Sandy – this is so cute! I love the little family, and the Girl Scout vest is a perfect touch! Mom and Dad are helping her sell GS cookies!
