“Holly Jolly Christmas” has been one of my favorite holiday songs ever since I first saw Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer as a child. The cheerful lyrics & melody never fail to make me happy!
I used the words that spark so much joy and a few of my favorite cardmaking techniques to create this tag…
I used my all-time favorite alphabet dies, Essentials by Ellen Classic Block Alpha, to create a “jolly” shaker window. Seriously I’m afraid I’m going to wear these dies out because I use them so very much! If you don’t have this set yet, Secret Santa yourself! *lol*
Tip: Looking for some on creating shaker cards? Check out 5 of our favorite ways HERE.
I layered “holly” die cuts over the shaker window using the Concord & 9th Simple Serif Alphabet.
For the background behind my shaker window (& the top of my tag), I created a candy cane stripe with some simple ink blending. First I applied It’s A Girl pink ink with a blending brush. Then I used some 1/2 inch purple tape to mask stripes before applying Rockin’ Red ink.
Tip: When applying adhesive masks/tape to an inked surface (like the purple tape to my pink inked panel), make sure the ink is completely dry.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a holly jolly Christmas!
Carly isn’t the only one inspired to be “Holly Jolly”! Check out what these designers have created…
