The Easter craft making season is upon us! Easter is earlier than usual this year, April 4th. EH Design Ambassador, Adelina, is sharing two ideas for combining the Honey Bee, Honey Bunnies stamp set with the EBE Tall n Skinny Alpha!
I don’t use a lot of purple in my craft projects. I don’t have an aversion to it, it’s just not a color I reach for typically. Maybe because it used to be my daughter’s favorite color. Everything I bought her or made for her for 13 years was PURPLE! *laugh*
I thought Easter would be the perfect opportunity to play with purple and use my poor neglected Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink pad. I also wanted to play with the new Kitsch Flamingo color that was just released by Ranger!

I started by splattering the Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Spray onto my card base. Using the EBE Essential Rectangles dies, I created a frame. I wanted just a peek of the pink, I didn’t want it to overpower the card. I wanted it to resemble a speckled egg pattern.

I took the rectangle that was cut out in the process of die cutting the frame and created some Shaded Lilac clouds with the MFT Cloud stencil. If you’ve never used the MFT Cloud stencil, give it a try. It has some really great variations for puffy clouds. It’s one of my favorite stencils.

I adhered the frame and the cloud background to the card front. Then arranged the little bunny with wings on the card front. I created the sentiment “EASTER” with the EBE Tall n Skinny alpha.
If you don’t have sentiments for some of the major holidays, the EBE Tall n Skinny alpha is a great set to have in your stash. Personalize cards with a name, a sentiment or use the numbers for special birthdays or anniversaries!
I finished off the card with a few jewels by Pretty Pink Posh.

For my next card, I covered the front of the card base with Shaded Lilac clouds using the MFT Cloud stencil.
TIP: When creating several cards using the same stamp set, stamp out all the images in the set. Color them similarly and decide on a color palette. It’s a quick way to create several cards at once!

I went back and forth on how I wanted this card to look. I thought about integrating the paper from the Honey Bee, Spring Fling paper pad. I arranged the card front a few times before deciding to keep it simple.
It felt like the black patterned paper would distract from coloring I did on the bunnies and that’s not what I wanted as my focal point. Having a stack of images colored and die cut really helped my process as I laid out this card.

Since the EBE Tall n Skinny alpha is so thin, I die cut it from 110lb cardstock. Even when I used this set to die cut the EASTER sentiment, I adhered the patterned paper to the heavier cardstock. It just made it easier for me to adhere it.
I pulled the “honey bunny” sentiment from the Honey Bunnies stamp set. This set is really great because all the sentiments have matching dies! That really allows you to pop up sentiments when you’re using them on card fronts or on gift tags. I love that!
After I arranged my bunnies and adhered them, I arranged my sentiment. I die cut “honey bunny” and popped it up with some foam tape. After adding a few Pretty Pink Posh jewels, this card was done!

I hope you find a little Easter inspiration here today. If you don’t celebrate Easter, these images are great for welcoming Spring! Build up your stash of Spring birthday cards with this fun combination of Honey Bee, Honey Bunnies stamp set and the EBE Tall n Skinny alpha!
