Celebrating Fall with Pumpkin Season

Fall is in full swing and I’ve been loving the weather here in Toronto, which has been perfect for long walks! I hope it stays this way for a while yet. We’ve been eating and drinking everything pumpkin but the leaves haven’t started to change colours yet. I think we’ll start to see it in the next two weeks, just in time for Canadian Thanksgiving!

I started this fun fall-themed card by picking my Catherine Pooler ink colour and they are: Merlot, Samba, Sparkling Berry, Coral Cabana, Sauna, Shea Butter and Mint To Be. I love dreaming up new colour combos and I definitely need to use these again!

After stamping all the outline images from Pumpkin Season, Bear Ware 2 and Bear Ware 3 in Merlot, I added colour to the leaves, pumpkins and coffee up using Samba, Sparkling Berry, Coral Cabana, Sauna, Shea Butter and Mint To Be. I used masking paper and the same ink colours to add those same colours to the coffee cup using an acrylic block, Rudolph’s nose and the striped stocking stamp from Nostalgic Season!

After trimming a panel from white linen cardstock, I added details to the base using Stitching Lines. I used the MISTI stamping tool to ombre-stamp the sentiment with Shea Butter and Sauna, which I finished with embossing ink and sparkle embossing powder. Then I used the ink-to-paper technique using Merlot ink to create a shadow for the thanks sentiment. I used stamped the secondary sentiment from Nice of You directly on to the panel using Merlot ink. To finish, I cut a panel of coral cardstock which I die cut with the A2 Piercing Plate 2.

    So much goodness here! I love the piercing background, the pumpkins are gorgeous… and the stitching background- swoon!
