MAKE A CROSS-STITCH VALENTINE CARD

Do you love paper embroidery? Julie’s sharing how to cross-stitch an ombré heart using our exclusive A-2 Piercing Plate!

Hello, it’s me, Julie!  I’m using these pretty colors of embroidery floss and some simple cross-stitching to create this charming Valentine greeting!

TIPS:

  • Depending on how delicate or thick you’d like your stitches to be, you can separate your floss from the full 6 strand skein, into 2 or 3 strands; I used 2 strands to keep this design more on the delicate side.
  • Use tape on the back side of your pierced panel to secure the ends of your embroidery floss and avoid bulky knots.
  • It’s OK to make mistakes—if you accidentally stitch through a hole you didn’t mean to, just remove your needle, gently unthread those stitches and then get back on track.  Once you are finished with the design, just use a teflon bone folder to burnish down those wayward holes—no one will ever know the difference!

Thanks, Julie! Cute card. I miss cross stitching. I need to dig out some supplies to make this for my sister.
