EBE by Julie Ebersole, Essentials By Ellen

Clean and Simple with Guest Laurie Willison

We welcome our friend Laurie to the blog. We’re so excited to have her work her clean and simple magic with the Essentials by Ellen – Painted Florals stamps and designer dies.

Hey crafty friends!  It’s Laurie Willison here today with a fun, quick and simple card using the new Painted Florals Stamp and Die sets.  I just love this floral set as it works so well with my clean and simple cards…just my style!

To create this card, I used ¼” washi tape to frame the outside of the card base.  Using Pinkfresh Sky Blue ink and a blending brush, I added in light color to the masked area.  After peeling away the washi tape, I was left with the perfect framed background.  This technique is one of my favorites as it adds a fun little detail for simple cards. And a great space to add in some florals!

I grabbed the Heartbeat Ink Cube Set from Pinkfresh to stamp several of the blooms and their centers.  I used Pinkfresh Over the Hills Ink Cubes to stamp the leaves and Lemon Whip Ink from the Pinkfresh Rise and Shine Ink Cube Set.  To finish off the blooms, I added a black enamel dot from Altenew’s Black and White Enamel Dot Set.  Love that little bit of shine!

I arranged the blooms just how I wanted them on the card front and then added a small piece of Press N Seal right on top to ensure that the blooms stayed in the exact arrangement.  I flipped the Press N Seal arrangement over and added small pieces of foam tape to pop all those blooms up on the card front. I have been doing this technique for years and it works perfectly every time!

To finish off my card, I added in the cutest sentiment, “Hiya” from the Casual Greetings Stamp Set.  Super simple and so much fun!

I hope you have enjoyed today’s project.  I had so much fun playing with the Ellen Essentials from the March Release.  Thanks for having me today!

Thanks for the Press N Seal tip. This is a cute and simple to make card. We all need some ideas like this in our card making arsenal.
