Cardmaking, Essentials By Ellen Release

NEW Essentials By Ellen Spooky September Release Previews!

It’s time for another fun new release at Ellen Hutson LLC! We’re creeping your way with a wicked cute new release of autumn and spooky season goodies that we know you’ll be falling for!

Every day this week, we’ll be showing off gourdgeous previews of our new release with tips, tricks and inspiration from our fa-BOO-lous Design Team. To close out the week, we’ll be having an Instagram Hop, complete with prizes and giveaways!

Exclusively at ellenhutson.com, this new line of stamps, coordinating dies, and hot foil stamps will be available THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th, at 9 AM PDT.

Check out the fun projects created by our Design Team below!

Angela Simpson kicks the week off by showing us how to combine long time Essentials by Ellen favorites with our new September release!

“Interactive cards are a great way to add a little extra element of surprise. Here, I’ve used the Push-Me Pull-You die to hide a fun sentiment behind the group of ghosts.”

Want to see step by step how this adorable GHOST HUGGER card was made?

Check out Angela’s tutorial HERE!

Searching for help on how to get your ghostly friends to stay in place? Our Design Team has you covered!

From Carissa Wiley:

“Use an acetate strip to suspend images or greetings in the center of a die cut window.  Your ghost will look like it’s floating in the window!”

From Tiffany Pryce Russom:

“Having trouble adhering vellum die cuts? Try using a double-sided adhesive sheet. Adhere the double-sided sheet to the vellum and then die cut as normal. The result is a vellum “sticker” with even adhesive on the entire die cut so most times the adhesive will not show through.”

From Therese Calvird:

“For an invisible way to adhere your Vellum Ghost, use a fine dotted sheet of adhesive such as Sticky Dots or Sticky Specks!”

Not sure how to color ghosts? Try coloring the background or accessories instead like Carly did with the ghost portraits from the Ghost Ancestors set to create an easy, clean & simple card!

Daniel West saves the day with his quick thinking color tips!

“Make your own colored cardstock to match your palette exactly! I needed some pink cardstock, so I pressed my Concord & 9th Ballet Slipper Ink Pad directly into some white cardstock for my background.”

Stitching is back in style, and Emily Mydlowski shows us a fun way to say “HEY BOO” to all your favorite ghouls this season.

We’re also thrilled to continue expanding our line of Essential Hot Foil Shapes this month, with our new ESSENTIAL OVALS Hot Foil Stamps! Check out Tiffany’s clever way to show off

“Try making a background with your Essential by Ellen Hot Foil stamp shapes. I foiled multiple ovals in two different color foils to create a wonky pattern.

Since foil resists dye ink and alcohol ink, try coloring in portions for additional detail!”

Stay tuned tomorrow for another round of boo-tiful previews!

What are you looking forward to this spooky season? (besides the new Essentials by Ellen release, of course!) Let us know below!
