It’s spring so it’s time to stamp with all the Essentials by Ellen Mondo flowers! But I’ve been a little short on crafty time lately (with two busy toddlers at home), so I needed a card design that packed a colorful spring punch but didn’t need to be colored. I’m pretty slow when it comes to coloring, LOL! My solution? A little masking and ink blending!
For these cards I used some low-tack tape to mask stripes. I like to use different widths of tape so I don’t have to measure.
Then I removed one piece of tape to ink blend the space with Distress Oxide inks.
After one ink blended stripe was dry, I replaced the tape over it. Then I removed the piece of tape next to it and blended that space.
Next I removed all the tape and let the ink blending dry completely before stamping the mondo flowers & sentiments on top. It’s very important to let the Distress Oxide ink dry before trying to stamp over it, or the images will seem a bit faded. Having a stamping tool to be able to stamp the images & sentiments multiple times can also help get a crisp image over the blending.
