Cardmaking, Stamping

DIY Some Sweet Custom Candy Patterned Paper!

Hi crafty friends! Are you ever stuck when you have smaller images that don’t fill up your card? Well, I’m back to share a short video sharing how I created two different cards using custom patterns using smaller images focusing on the new Essentials by Ellen Trufflin’ stamp and die set.

For my first card, I decided to stamp in a black and white look so the rest of the card pops. I started stamping in the corner and worked my way outwards so I had enough space for the last few images. Then, I added some additional chocolates in color to bring focus to my sentiment.

My second card actually features a more subtle use for custom pattern paper and that’s using it for die cuts! Here, I’m using the Library Card Pocket and created a quick pattern in the front. This is super cute because the Treat Yo Shelf stamp and die set works perfectly with this die for a functional library card that your recipient can pull out for any secret messages you may want to include. For this pattern paper, I also used the smaller hearts in the Big Love set to fill in the space around the chocolates.

Tips for creating custom pattern paper:

  • Start stamping in the corner of your paper and work your way outwards.
  • Use even smaller images to fill in the spacing between images to fill up the background.
