WATCH! Create a Mondo DIY Postage Stamp Card with Guest Designer Kelly Taylor!

Join us in welcoming guest designer Kelly Taylor back to the blog! Inspired by classic postage stamps, today Kelly is sharing how she combined her favorite Mondo flower with our new Postage Die Set to create a fabulous DIY postage stamp card!

Hello Crafters!

I’m so excited to be back guest designing today! The latest Ellen Hutson release has been all about postage and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to create my own postage stamp! This is a great design that would work with any of the Mondo Stamps for any occasion.

I started by stamping the Mondo Rhododendron in black and coloring it up with my Sketchmarkers.  This pink combination is one of my very favorites! Before I used the coordinating die to cut it out I outlined the entire flower to match my background. This helps the die blend seamlessly into the background. I then cut out some navy and white using the Postage Dies. To create the price of my stamp I also cut out two white numbers using the Classic Block Numbers & Symbols

This card has a very collage style feel to it which is a great way to sneak in a sentiment too. I white heat embossed my sentiment in the top right of the background before moving on to the other elements. I wanted the stamp to look like it had already been posted but I had a dark background and a white border. I solved this problem by using silver embossing powder. It gave enough detail on both colors for the “stamping” to be seen.

Once I assembled my layers I added in my extra details using a white gel pen, including the Forever, USA and cent sign. I popped the entire piece up on a white card base for some added interest.

You can check out the video below to see how I aligned the multi-layering stamping so easily.

Thanks so much for crafting with me today and to Ellen for inviting me!
